[This course will take 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete.] Supports learning for TSDS Foster Carers Standards 5 and TSDS Family and Friends Foster Carers Standards 4.

This course explores the area of child development from birth up to primary age children. There is an enormous amount of change happening in the first 10 years of a child’s life, with many milestones and developmental stages taking place. As a foster carer, it is important to be aware of these major milestones regarding the children you foster. It will also be useful knowledge to pass on if you care for a parent and their child.

In this course, you will learn:
- What child development is
- Milestones in a baby’s first year, toddler years, preschool years and primary age years
- Medical milestones, including vaccinations
- What to do if you are concerned about the child’s development
- Useful resources for further information and support
